* NEAG endorses second National Plan for the implementation of UN Resolution 1325

On Monday 19 December 2011 three ministries, 31 civil society organisations and four knowledge institutes endorsed the second version of the Dutch National Action Plan for women in conflict areas for the period 2012-2015 (NAP II). With their signature they confirmed their willingness to continue their efforts for the protection and the empowerment of woemen in war zones and their dedication to nonviolent conflict resolution.

One of the signatories was NEAG Chair Ted Strop-von Meijenfeldt, who also presides the Dutch Platform Women & Sustainable Peace. She emphasized the unique character of the Action Plan as a joint project of Dutch civil society and the government. This implies the necessity of good collaboration between the two and this is the big challenge for the years to come.
